Explore the stunning Maldives on this 13-day tour that takes you to two local islands, Rasdhoo and Ukulhas, in North Ari Atoll.

Part of the excitement of travelling is arriving at a new destination and exploring. We are also aware that on some days you may wake up and decide today ‘I fancy doing nothing’. So on this tour we will book all accommodation and breakfast, organise and assist with your transfers and activities but leave you plenty of free time to do as you please. There is always a Secret Paradise guide on hand to offer advice and assistance and provide you access to unique cultural experiences.

There are plenty of activities for you to select from including but not limited to cultural experiences, SCUBA diving, sunset cruises, snorkeling, windsurfing, kite surfing, evening fishing trips, sandbank visits, catamaran sailing, resort day visits and beach BBQs. All of which can be organised during your trip or in advance if you prefer a more scheduled itinerary.

The islands of Rasdhoo and Ukulhas are surrounded by the breathtaking Indian Ocean. This area of North Ari Atoll is widely regarded as one of the best diving spots in the world and when the season is right it is possible to snorkel or swim with manta rays. With an abundance of green vegetation and beautiful white sandy beaches this tour provides the ideal opportunity to indulge in the activities the Maldives is famous for as well as brushing shoulders with local culture and people.
Itinerary

North Ari Atoll Island Hopping - 13 Days

Day 1

Arrival Day
Welcome briefing
Speedboat transfer to Rasdhoo

Rasdhoo is close to some of the best dive sites in the Maldives so if you’re a diver get yourself signed up at the local dive centre. Divers may wish for an early start tomorrow and opt to join a dive to Hammerhead Point. During the manta season (November to April) there are opportunities for spectacular close encounters with these majestic large rays.

Day 2

Breakfast

Travel by speedboat to two of the best nearby reefs. The coral reefs of the Maldives are inhabited by diverse marine life and are teeming with colourful fish and corals. Keep your eyes open for turtles, sharks and rays you never know what may be in the blue! Once you have your confidence there are regular snorkeling excursions to nearby reefs giving non divers the opportunity to discover the colorful marine life and coral reefs in this area.

Days 3-6

Breakfast

Free Day. Relax on the bikini beach, or for those feeling energetic participate in the various optional watersport activities on offer. There are a variety of optional excursions to book locally and diving trips can be organised for certified divers

Day 7

Breakfast

Transfer by speedboat to your second island destination. Ukulhas has an abundance of green vegetation as well as beautiful white sandy beaches with access to a noteworthy house reef for snorkeling directly from the beach. Ukulhas provides the ideal island base to discover Maldivian culture and enjoy a social tourist vibe.

Day 8

Breakfast

Late afternoon head out for a sunset kayaking tour. Kayak through the beautiful lagoon from where you can enjoy the sun set on the horizon.

Day 9

Why not book a whale shark day trip to South Ari Atoll? South Ari Atoll is 90 minutes by speedboat and is very lucky to have a unique year-round population of Whale sharks. Nowhere else in the world boasts whale sharks every single month of the year, and furthermore, many of the sharks seen are the same individuals time after time. You may encounter 1 or 2 sharks within 30 minutes, but, given that they are wild animals in their natural habitat, we may not encounter one for the entire time we are searching. However, the unpredictability all adds to the excitement! If we do spot them, we will have the opportunity to snorkel alongside them; a truly magical experience.

Days 10-12

Speedboat transfer to Airport with airport departure assistance.

Mere information

The Maldives is a Muslim country and therefore care needs to be taken with regard to the dress code on the local islands. While it is acceptable for men to wear t-shirts and shorts or swim shorts, women should maintain a more conservative approach by wearing t-shirts, loose shorts or sarongs. The islands we visit are more tolerant of guests wearing traditional beachwear, however, women should avoid wearing bikinis and swimsuits on more public beaches. During the local island tours, where we may have access to mosques and family homes, shoulders and thighs should be covered out of respect for local customs.
