This unforgettable surf development course will be packed with a carefully curated array of practical and theoretical lessons, hosted by fully qualified and experienced instructors. Get ready to lap up your days under the sun learning all the necessary skills with expert tuition, instructors and feedback. You’ll be catching, riding, and turning on unbroken waves in no time.

Itinerary

Mojo Surf Academy - start Byron Bay

A Typical Week

Begin each day with a tasty breaky available from 07:00. Then head off on your surf lesson with Mojo’s elite instructors who will take you to the break of the day to begin your surf lesson. Approx from 15:00-17:00 Monday to Friday, you will have a theory lesson or fitness classes.

A Typical Weekend

The weekends are all yours! You can chill out, surf, hang out with friends or go visit some of the sights and scenes the local area has to offer. This is also a good time to practice and hone those developing skills and be ready for the week to come!

1-Month Course

The 1-month course will facilitate the development of the following skills:
- Practical development of beginner to intermediate surf skills
- Ocean safety, ocean awareness, fitness training
- Access to a variety of waves
- Instruction to achieve catching, riding and turning on unbroken waves

2-Month Course

The 2-month course will facilitate the development of the following additional skills:
- Increased surf theory, and exposure to more challenging waves
- Increased ocean fitness, paddling power and confidence

3-Month Course

The 3 month course will facilitate the development of the following additional skills:
- Preparation to pass all requirements to become a Level 1 instructor
- Provide up to 40 hours of practical coaching experience

Course Lessons

Live the dream to develop the skills to become a qualified surf instructor
Develop your surfing with 5 x weekly practical surf development lessons
Get to know the nitty-gritty with a weekly surf theory lesson
Learn how to read a wave with ocean safety and awareness lessons
Gain your confidence with lessons provided by highly qualified & experienced instructors
Get in shape with 2-4 fitness or yoga sessions every week
Improve week on week with video analysis sessions
All equipment provided except for wax. Purchasing your own wetsuit is recommended

Local Payment

Local Payment for the 3-month Surf Academy course is for Statutory Certification & Accreditation to become a Level 1 Surf Instructor.

Accommodation

Spot X Surf Camp: Your ultimate beachfront surfing haven in Arrawarra! Embrace the surf lifestyle in a National Marine Park, north of Sydney and Coffs Harbour, and south of Byron Bay. Experience Australia’s most beautiful coastal beachfront!

Long days in the sun and waves leading to memorable nights around the camp fire, Spot X is truly a place you don’t want to miss. Great food, awesome staff and comfortable, clean accommodation.

Even if you’re the slowest walker it might only take you a minute to get from your room to beach! There you’ll learn to surf on our great learner-friendly surf beaches. You’ll stay in one of our cool 2-6 share dorm cabins or 4 share tipi’s, with all your bedding included. Some cabins have small en-suites, the others have amenities close-by.

For your comfort: Spot X has all the facilities including laundry, cooking area, a shop for all your basic necessities, an entertainment area with internet access, tour desk, TV & DVD, a kick-ass sound system, hammocks, volleyball court.

The number of nights included corresponds to the length of stay, so either 31, 61 or 91 days!

Local transport

When you arrive at Spot X our Academy Leader will meet you at the bus stop and bring you to the surf camp.

Meals

All your meals are taken care of while you are at the camp! Vegetarians, vegans, gluten or lactose intolerance - no worries.
