Optional Tours:
1- Whale Watching Navigation (From June1stto November30th)
Please note: This Optional excursion has to be taken the same day of the Peninsula Valdes Full Day Tour.Duration of navigation: 1 hours and 30 minutes.
When the Peninsula Valdes Tour reaches Puerto Piramides, a small touristic village in the coast of the Peninsula, we have the chance, during whale season, to embark for a Whale Watching excursion. The guides on board will tell you about the coastal and marine ecosystems. This navigation is enjoyable because of the environment and because of the company of the gentle giants of the sea. Apart from observing them in their habitat, we will learn about their biological cicle: mating, birth and breeding of these beautiful whales.
2 -Punta Tombo Penguin Colony (From September1st to March 20th)
You can take this optional tour on Day 3.In this tour you will visit the most important Latin American continental “Pingüinera” or Penguin Colony(where hundred of thousands of Penguins lays their eggs on the beach).
You will leave Puerto Madryn at 7:30 am and make a first stop at “Rawson” port, in the “Union” beach to see the “Toninas Overas” if you are lucky (a cool-looking dolphin species). After that, we will move towards Punta Tombo, a geographic feature that serves as a habitat to the “Magallanes” Penguin. There, we will have time to observe how the Gulls, “Skuas”, “Petrels”, Cormorans, Oystercatchers and Duck Steams cohabit in the coast. You will also be able to observe steppe characteristic species like “Guanacos”(typical animal), “Choiques” (small ostrichs), “Maras” (big patagonian Hares) and Foxes.Then we will visit the small town of Gaiman, to admire its culture and the very particular architecture, and also to taste a delicious piece of cake and a welsh tea (optional). We will return to Puerto Madryn around 18:30 hs.
